The monthly LAM/TSC Seminar Series aims to
- Facilitate the pooling of knowledge among those working separately, thereby increasing the potential impact of present research on LAM/TSC
- Identify gaps in research that might impact future work on LAM/TSC
- Foster interdisciplinary collaboration at clinical and basic science levels within the research community in Boston, throughout the United States and internationally
- Recruit senior leaders in fields relevant to LAM/TSC research to work on LAM
- Recruit younger scientists and clinicians to LAM/TSC research.
Seminar topics include:
- HIF1 pathway
- the molecular biology of LAM and TSC
- estrogen biology
- AKT-TSC1/TSC2-mTOR signaling
- regulation of smooth muscle growth
- lymphangiogenesis and angiogenesis
- Cell signaling/PI3 Kinase
The seminars have been well attended with 30-50 participants at each meeting.
Generous program support increases our ability to invite speakers from throughout the country and the world to come to Boston to exchange ideas, network and explore potential collaborations. |
